Anh Tan

Calamansi producer in Vietnam

PRODUCER & TERROIR

CALAMANSI CULTIVATED WITH PASSION

Anh Tan started his own calamansi orchards because he is passionate about agriculture and his country’s land. He now owns two hectares of crops, including 500 calamansi trees.

TERROIR

Anh’s calamansi are grown in Phong Dien, a region known for cultivating this particular fruit. The fertile soil is ideal for all kinds of crops, from calamansi to oranges and mandarins. Calamansi are harvested throughout the year, with an interval of about two months between harvests, so Ahn can be sure his trees are productive.

“We grow calamansi as naturally as possible and harvest it all year long.”

GROWING TECHNIQUES

Calamansi grown sustainably for nature’s benefit

Ahn is eager to support his family and respect his neighbors, so he makes sure his fruit is grown sustainably and as naturally as possible. That’s why he doesn’t use any herbicides or pesticides in his orchards. He uses natural methods to keep pests away. For instance, he uses sticky traps to prevent gout fly attacks. This is just one excellent example of an approach that respects the soil and living things.

ENVIRONMENTAL AND SOCIAL ACTION

A farmer that cares for his community

Ahn uses an environmentally friendly approach to ensure his fruit is high-quality, but also to protect his family and neighbors’ health. What’s more, as a seasoned farmer, he understands the needs of other local producers. This is why he makes the effort to pass on his knowledge and values to his peers and build lasting relationships with them. As someone who truly cares about his community, he has always wanted both his family and his neighbors to find a reliable way to sell their fruit.

Working with Partner Producers Too

We always want our supply chains to be as short and direct as possible and to work with a single producer whenever we can. However, if we use two varieties of the same fruit or orchards are too small to meet our needs, we will work with several producer partners instead. We always apply the same standards, specifications and commitments as we do with the grower we present to you in greater depth. Fruit supply chains often require teamwork, and it is essential we get to know all our growers and support their efforts.
